Volti di Mutoko, Faces of a Place is a book curated by Luciano Nigro
Reflections, short stories, but mainly a photographic book. A collection of many contributions from the volunteers working at the Luisa Guidotti Hospital in Mutoko, Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe.
Since 2003 the hospital has activated an HIV clinic, providing antiretroviral therapy to pregnant women. The clinic aims to reduce the HIV infection from mother to baby to zero cases.
Medical students, nurses, doctors, dental doctors, teachers, midwives, and many more volunteers work every year at the hospital, fighting the HIV stigma and providing services in a rural area of Zimbabwe in Africa.
Their stories and photographs capture the conditions of people living with HIV and AIDS in Mutoko but also about a beautiful community working together.
